The forms can be emailed to mary.arnold@ankenyschools.org or brought to the Southview main office between the hours of 7:30-11:30  or  1:00-3:30  M-F.

Students from ACSD competed in the Polk County Bar Association’s Law Day contest and garnered several awards in each category. Students in grades K through 12 were invited to compete in the visual arts, music, essay, and poetry categories.

This year’s theme was Advancing the Rule of Law Now. The Rule of Law is the bedrock of our democracy because the same laws apply to everyone, and no one is above the law. The Rule of Law is a system of laws, rules, policies, and principles that apply to everyone to ensure a fair and just society where everyone is treated equally under the law. This includes having a fair and independent judiciary and making sure human rights are guaranteed for all.

Law day has been celebrated since 1958 when President Dwight Eisenhower signed the proclamation declaring it a day to celebrate and strengthen the American heritage of liberty, justice, and equality under the law.

This year’s celebration was held virtually. Guests from the legal profession spoke to students, emphasizing the importance of the Rule of Law, and entertained questions from the students. A visual presentation was shared that showcased student work.

The end of the school year is approaching very quickly! Yearbooks have arrived and we have a limited amount of extras.  If you would like to purchase a book, please click here.  Yearbooks will be distributed to all students during their flex time on May 28th & June 1st.  Don’t miss out on the memories and the celebration of the year!

The Ankeny Southview 8^th grade girls relay team of Alli Macke, Morgan Conklin, Savannah Gage, and Ava Leinen won the 2021 Drake Relays Middle School 4 x100 relay. The girls beat out 38 other teams from around the state and finished in a time of 52.76.

Spring Student Pictures will be taken the  morning of  Tuesday, April 20th.  These are look before you buy, so no packets or money needed at picture day.  Picture proofs will be sent home at a later date when they are available .  There will be no make-up picture day.

Parents of remote learners please contact the Southview office at 515-965-9635 if you are interested in having Spring Pictures taken.  There will not be an alternate date or time for Remote Learners.

Pictures taken previously in the fall will be used for the 2021-2022 Student ID.

Southview students will be taking the ISASP tests April 5 – April 9.  See below for Remote and In-Person schedules.

Congrats to our Ankeny Hawks Junior Mock Trial Team who won their playoff rounds & advanced to the State Competition! This State Competition will be held Tuesday, March 23 & Wednesday, March 24 this week!
